Restricted License

As of July 1, 2010, a provision exists where as a convicted DUI offender may apply and acquire a restricted license. The restricted license allows the participant to drive with certain limitations. The requirements are: enrollment in the proper DUI program, form DL-107 must be sent to the DMV by the DUI provider, insurance document SR22 must be filed with the DMV and an interlock device must be installed in your vehicle.

Please keep in mind that these are basic requirements and if your DUI offense includes an automobile accident or injuries to others, you will have to call the Department of Motor Vehicles Mandatory Action at (916) 657-6525 to review your eligibility for a restricted license.
